‘HOT HOUSE’ YOUTH JAZZ ORCHESTRA
Following their highly successful, sell-out gig at Woodlands in October 2007, Hot House (formerly the East Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra) are back at school, for what promises to be a great evening.
Hot House run different bands, catering for all abilities with a number of senior players going on to enjoy professional careers. The group have a growing reputation as one of the foremost jazz bands of their kind, with a string of international honours, including Outstanding Services to Jazz Education from Long Beach California in 2005 and New York in 2006.
There are currently nine members of Woodlands School playing with Hot House, and having a great time! They have played in Belgium and Holland with the band and are well into rehearsals for a trip to New York in October, where they will play a series of gigs and take in the sights.
On Saturday 28 March, at 7.15 pm, Hot House will be playing at Woodlands School, presenting a programme of fabulous music including a variety of jazz, pop, and film themes. Local real ale will be on sale to help the evening go with a swing.
